Phantom Blade Zero Remnant Spark & Spark Cage: Locations and Upgrades
Remnant Sparks are the charges your Phantom Edges run on. More Sparks means more Phantom Edge uses per fight. This page explains how to get the Remnant Spark Cage, what polishing it costs, and how to raise your maximum Spark count.

What Is Remnant Spark?
Remnant Spark is the resource you spend to use Phantom Edges, the limited-use secondary weapons you carry next to your two main weapons. Each use costs Sparks, so the number of Sparks you can hold limits how often you can bring out a Phantom Edge.
Ways to get Sparks back or save them (reported)
Each of the effects below comes from a single source:
- Remnant Spark Cage: a chance to get a Spark back when you do a Phantom Edge follow-up (see below; this one is confirmed).
- Endless Renewal Lv. 2 (ability): executions can restore Sparks.
- Acolyte Whisk (accessory): fill your elemental energy to gain a Spark.
- Formless Divine Mirror / Crude Radiant Heart (accessories): grant a temporary Spark for ranged or martial Phantom Edges.
- Shadowless Form (ability): a 15% chance that using a Phantom Edge costs no Spark.
- Flowing Chi (ability): certain counters use no Spark.
- Nuo Mask (accessory): summon-type Phantom Edges cost 1 Spark less.
- Guardian Idol (accessory): the opposite effect. Destruction-type Phantom Edges cost 1 extra Spark in exchange for more damage.
Where Is the Remnant Spark Cage?
The Remnant Spark Cage is a Legendary Support accessory. It’s in a Major Chest in the Village of Lu, roughly 28 m from the Smuggler’s Treasure Cellar bell. Once equipped, Phantom Edge follow-ups have a 33% chance to give back one Spark.
Spark Cage Polishing Costs
To polish, rest at any Bell, open Upgrade Equipment, then choose Polish Accessory. One source says the option opens after Jewel in the Crimson Forest polishes your first accessory.
| Step | Refund chance | Remnant Dust | Material |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | 33% | – | – |
| 1 | 66% | 12,480 | Tainted Crystal Shard |
| 2 | 100% | 18,720 | Refined Indigo Crystal |
Two polishes take the refund chance to 100%, at a total cost of 31,200 Remnant Dust plus the two materials.
Where to get the materials:
- Tainted Crystal Shard: 7,440 Dust from Quick Hand Zhang.
- Refined Indigo Crystal: 9,920 Dust from Zhang’s hideouts, or a pickup in the Mirrorwood Depths.
Polishing in later Cycles
New Game Plus unlocks six more steps (3–8). Each one keeps the 100% refund and adds +5% max Sha-Chi, up to +30%. All of them use Refined Indigo Crystal:
| Step | Remnant Dust |
|---|---|
| 3 | 37,440 |
| 4 | 56,160 |
| 5 | 74,880 |
| 6 | 93,600 |
| 7 | 112,320 |
| 8 | 131,040 |

Maximum Sparks: Still Depths
The Still Depths ability is the only known way to raise your maximum number of Remnant Sparks:
| Ability | Effect | Remnant Dust |
|---|---|---|
| Still Depths Lv. 1 | +1 max Spark | 30,000 |
| Still Depths Lv. 2 | +1 max Spark | 60,000 |
Both levels together give +2 max Sparks for 90,000 Dust. Our sources don’t state the starting maximum, so we can’t give the final total yet.
Paying for It
Both upgrades together cost 121,200 Remnant Dust (90,000 for Still Depths and 31,200 for the first two Cage polishes), before materials. That’s a lot, so follow our Remnant Dust farming route to collect every one-time Dust source.
