Phantom Blade Zero Remnant Dust Farming Route (Crimson Forest)
Remnant Dust pays for Ability Training at Bells, items in Quick Hand Zhang’s shop, and accessory polishing. There’s no endless farm for it. Enemies and bosses stay dead for the rest of a playthrough, and every pickup can be collected only once per Cycle. Getting the most Dust means picking up every one-time source, and the Crimson Forest has an unusually large number of them.
How Remnant Dust Works
- No respawns: once enemies and bosses are defeated, they don’t come back during that playthrough.
- One-time sources: enemy kills, white smoke swirls on the ground, rubbish heaps, chests, lore books and scrolls, and conversations or points of interest all pay out once.
- The only reset: starting a new Cycle (NG+) restores the whole world, including enemies, bosses and pickups. See what carries over in New Game Plus.
The Crimson Forest Route: 10 Stops
Stops marked ✅ appear in two independent guides. Stops marked ⚠️ come from only one guide, so treat their location and amount as approximate.
| # | Where to look | Dust | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Pit holding the sick dog, under the Outlaw Trap’s bell | ~1,857 | ⚠️ |
| 2 | Storeroom at the bottom of the ladder, near the second Butcher’s yard | ~1,838 | ⚠️ |
| 3 | Cellar beneath the Cliffside Lodge storehouse (requires the Cellar Crank) | ~1,850 | ⚠️ |
| 4 | Plank floor inside the wooden storehouse | ~911 | ⚠️ |
| 5 | Plateau along the plank road, next to the clay jars | 917 | ✅ |
| 6 | Roadside heap ~38 m SE of Red Serpent House’s bell | 916 | ✅ |
| 7 | Plank deck at the Forest Outpost, by the lit doorway | 903 | ✅ |
| 8 | Stake pit under the campfire at Cliff of Longing | 902 | ✅ |
| 9 | Hillside heap in red bushes, uphill from stop 8 | 928 | ✅ |
| 10 | Thieves’ Camp: scroll resting on a shelf in the supply tent | ~455 | ⚠️ |
Watch out: a heap roughly 10 m from Red Serpent House’s bell gives Ancient Timber, not Dust. The Dust heap is the one farther down the road (stop 6).
Estimated total and time
- The five confirmed stops add up to 4,566 Dust.
- All ten stops add up to roughly 11,500 Dust. Treat that as an estimate, because half the amounts come from a single guide.
- The route’s original guide estimates about 15 minutes. We haven’t timed it ourselves.
The order above follows the stop list. Because Cliffside Lodge needs the Cellar Crank first, the order that makes sense on your save may be different.
Bigger Single Pickups Elsewhere
- Smuggler’s Tunnel, Village of Lu: the doll room among the hanging puppets holds about 2,048 Dust, the largest single find reported so far (two sources). The gate opens with Puppet No. 44’s Eye.
- Weeping Creek Valley: one source counts 13 pickups worth around 3,452 in total.
Boosting Your Gains
Treasure Basin, a Support accessory, reportedly increases Remnant Dust drops by 10% (one source). It’s reported as a pre-order bonus or a later find at Meigu Lake, so most players won’t have it for this route.
